Angalia Bianca, a former Chicago gang member who struggled with a 36 year long battle with heroin addiction during which time she spent over 12 years in prison for non violent crimes as a result of addiction and 20+ years homeless on the streets of Chicago. Bianca has changed her life around to a sober, law abiding productive tax paying citizen who works endless hours helping at-risk youth involved in high risk street activity. She works with the organization CeaseFire/Cure Violence at the University of Illinois Chicago. She uses her own experience from her past lifestyle to mentor & deter young people from making the same mistakes she made. Bianca is also a Cure Violence National trainer on conflict mediation/resolution. Her life story has been featured on CNN, Chicago Tribune, WBBM radio, Local news networks, The White House Office of the National Drug Control Policy, February 2014 Rotary International magazine and others. She speaks publicly on many issues for social change as well as her own inspiring life story. Bianca has found her purpose in life working with what she calls "Society's forgotten population" She has reunited with her family & 5 children after being estranged from them for over 16 years.
